Ana Rodrigues, Francisca Martins and José Lopes represent Portugal at the World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m)
The Portuguese Swimming Federation has announced the call-up of three swimmers to represent Portugal at the World Short Course Championships, which will take place in Budapest, Hungary, between 10 and 15 December.
Ana Pinho Rodrigues (SC Braga) will compete in the 50 and 100 metres breaststroke, Francisca Soares Martins (FOCA) will compete in the 200, 400 and 800 metres freestyle, and José Paulo Lopes (SC Braga) will take part in the 400 and 800 metres freestyle.
The team will be accompanied by coaches Daniel Moedas and Samie Elias, with Simão Marinho (FOCA) joining the delegation as a guest coach.
This competition is part of the Pure Swimming High Performance and National Teams Plan for 2024, in a phase that coincides with the start of Miguel Arrobas’ presidency of the Portuguese Swimming Federation, replacing António Silva, who ended his mandate after three consecutive cycles.
The athletes promise to represent Portugal with determination and quality on the international stage.
