Talk: “Watchtowers 3.0: the three core principles that justify their use”
On the 13th, by 11:00 a.m., attendees will be able to take part in a lecture addressing the fundamental role of the Lifeguard Tower in the modernisation of beach services, focusing on necessity, efficiency and the integration of new technologies. Our guest speaker will be José Luis Esmoris Pérez — an international expert in rescue, aquatic safety and emergency management, with over three decades of experience.
He has taken part in humanitarian missions with the International Red Cross and was a member of rescue teams at the Barcelona Olympic Games. Since 1998, he has served as a resource manager at the Canary Islands Emergency Coordination Centre and has built a distinguished career in the coordination and leadership of rescue services, including leading Pro-Activa teams and collaborating with Proactiva Open Arms.
Currently, he is dedicated to providing technical consultancy to public authorities, driving innovation in beach safety, and, in 2025, he assumed the presidency of the Canary Islands Association of Beach Rescue and Surveillance Companies.
